Hold on to your hats. The boy's moved out of gran's and he's back on the prowl. Following last year's 'brilliant debut' (Independent), it's time for a stonking new hour of 'delightful, literate, exquisitely-worded comedy' (Scotsman) from the awkward toff, wannabe lad, So You Think You're Funny? winner and ‘one of the best young comedians around’ (Time Out).

Alex Edelman: Millennial

2014 Foster's Edinburgh Best Newcomer Award Winner Alex Edelman is a New York-based comedian who has lived in Boston, LA and Jerusalem. He’s a recent college graduate, and according to the Boston Globe, has “natural comic timing” and contains qualities “wonderful to see in a young comedian.”

This year marked his first Edinburgh show. He’s been working on it for a long time. Even figuring out the simple, one-word title for the show was an agonizing amount of stress. He’d like you to come see it. It covers a lot of ground, or at least a little bit of ground, intensely.

Tim Renkow (Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year winner, Amused Moose Laugh Off winner Chortle's Best Newcomer nominee and Student Finalist) is ‘hilarious’ (Kate Copstick, Scotsman), ‘brilliant’ (Henning Wehn), ‘kills every time...’ (Jarred Christmas).

Come explore the funny side of being judged on appearance, violence and God with Tim's dark yet cheerful sense of humour. If you believe you will go to hell for laughing at the disabled (he also happens to have cerebral palsy), Tim says: see you there.

Four stars from: Scotsman, Chortle, and Broadway Baby.

"A grimly funny, characterful debut, this show confirms Renkow as one of the UK's most promising new stand-ups." - Chortle review

"...he's venturing into areas that are high-risk and are so often mishandled by comedians. But Renkow handles them honestly and deftly, his comic antennae already sharp, and this bodes extremely well for the future." - London Is Funny

Russ Haynes asks ‘Just what makes us happy? Why is he happy or is he just wearing a mask like the rest of us?’  An experience comic who has supported the likes of Russell Kane, Sean Hughes, Patrick Monahan, Lee Nelson, Arthur Smith and many more as well as performing in clubs up and down the UK

Rick Murtagh is a rather pleasant, misanthropic. Rick will tell you why misanthropy and nihilism are positive, realistic qualities, and try and be nice about it.
Rick is a popular comic on the circuit and has been called the one to watch. Big things are awaiting him.

Matt Francis is a simple lad from ‘proper’ Essex who didn't know there was life above the M25. Using humour to find out things he should (probably) already know. For Matt, every day's a school day!
Matt is an up and coming comic and an audience favourite on the circuit and is fast becoming the comic on everybody lips.

A full afternoon’s entertainment featuring laughter, song, magic and mystery, featuring

Karen Dalton, an outstanding vocalist who began her career in musical theatre. This lead to comedy and her latest character is outrageous yet lovable pensioner, Elsie Crumpet who can hula hoop, breakdance and sing. She will shock, yet have you rolling in the aisles with laughter.

“Brilliant comedy impressionist” – The Stage

Noel Brodie is one of the UK’s brightest young comedians with an act suitable for any audience. He seems to effortlessly bridge that old age gap between ‘mainstream’ and ‘alternative’ with a blend of observational and off the cuff improvisational material, plus some intelligent parodies. His warmth on stage, quick wit and impeccable delivery make him a very popular act at home and overseas.

Helen Ward-Jackson is the most accurate tribute to the award winning singer Adele. Helen generates energy and excitement everywhere she performs. Every audience member is left wanting more and having to remind themselves that it isn't the real deal. As well as performing hits from Adele’s multi-platinum albums, Helen will cover songs from some of Adele’s idols.

Paul Newton is one of the amazing new breed of professional magicians, fusing ground breaking contemporary magic with traditional conjuring. He stuns audiences with his card tricks and mentalism act. Close-up magic is still very much his first love, appearing at many private, public & corporate functions throughout the course of a year.

John Ripley one of the leading Max Millerimpressionist, a favourite with Cheeky Chappie fans, has performed his routine to audiences from the Theatre Royal Brighton to the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane. As well as Max Miller, John is equally adept at playing Bud Flanagan, Dean Martin, Frankie Vaughan … the list goes on.

Produced by Karen Dalton

ANDY ZALTZMAN – SATIRIST FOR HIRE
Your chance to have the issues you care about satirised to order by one of Britain’s leading political comedians.
“Probably the best satirical comic we’ve produced in the last two decades. Intelligent, biting and silly.” ~ Time Out, London
“Political comedy at its best” ~ The Sunday Times
Andy Zaltzman, the British-based half of the global smash hit topical podcast The Bugle, in which he co-lampoons the planet alongside The Daily Show’s John Oliver, returns to take satirical commissions from you, the public.
Your ticket will entitle you to submit, via email, a request for Zaltzman to address an issue that you feel requires satirising.
Do you have a global gripe, a British bellyache, or a personal peeve? Are you exasperated by economics, piqued by politics, or wound up about the world? Whether it is a general grumble or a specific bleat, send in your satirico-query. Zaltzman will butter your hot potato to order, and then serve it back to you.
When ordering your ticket, simply submit your request via the comments and special requests form. Realistically, Zaltzman will not have time to satirise everyone’s pet political grievances, so make it good!
This is all set to be the most interactive satirical stand-up show of late-November 2014, as Zaltzman – star of 5 Live’s 7 Day Sunday, 7 Day Saturday, sundry stuff on BBC Radio4, and bafflingly/rightfully infrequent TV appearances (delete according to taste) – delivers freshly-hewn, individually-tailored comedic responses to the audience’s big issues.
All issues considered. Give or take. Certified by the British Institute Of Satirists & Lampooners. In 3D. Attend with care if allergic to contrived analogies.

“The king of Edinburgh” ~ BBC Radio 6 Music
“A new Richard Herring show is a never-ending cause for delight” ~ The List
Richard Herring: Lord Of The Dance Settee
Have you ever…
considered the amazing power of the sombrero to eradicate all sadness?
noticed the terrible curse of the UK’s oldest person? (whoever receives this poisoned chalice is always dead within months)
become disillusioned with organised religion when you realise a childhood mishearing of a hymn means Jesus isn’t anywhere near as much fun as you thought?
Lord Of The Dance Settee is Richard Herring’s eleventh stand-up show in eleven years. Having sorted out politics (Hitler Moustache), religion (Christ On A Bike), love (What Is Love, Anyway?), death (We’re All Going Yo Die!) and spam-javelins (Talking Cock), he is in a frivolous mood with a show about daftness, being uncool and bouncing joyously on a sofa.
Herring has performed at nearly every Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 1987. In the 1990s he was in a double act with Stewart Lee (whatever happened to him?) in BBC2 cult classics Fist Of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy. More recently he has created a raft of Sony and Chortle Award winning podcasts like Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, As It Occurs To Me, and Me1 Vs Me2 Snooker. You might have read his weekly column in the Metro, heard him on Just A Minute on BBC Radio 4 or seen him on a panel show being repeated on Dave.

If you like food, you'll like this. Internationally acclaimed comedian George Egg is also a rather fanatical self-taught cook with a somewhat anarchic approach to making meals. Hugely entertaining (The Guardian). Being frankly more obsessed with culinary matters than comedic ones, and dissatisfied with the quality and cost of takeaways and room-service meals while touring the stand-up comedy clubs of the UK, George embarks on a project to take matters into his own capable hands.

Comedy with food unconventionally cooked.

Piano, Powerpoint and possibly the biggest finish on the fringe accompany a show that is equal parts bleak and hopeful.

Defying Gravity was 2012 Funny Women Variety Award Winner Sooz Kempner's hit Edinburgh debut show this August. Her biggest dream is to be in the musical Wicked but so far she's only managed to get a season as a Christina Aguilera tribute act, a tour of the north with a Jack Russell and to single handedly cause her parents' divorce (according to her dad...you'll see).

"Kempner is instantly engaging, delightfully quirky and bubbling over with energy...This is a woman who belongs on the stage" ★★★★ Chortle
