 About Queer Tango

Queer Tango is simply for those who are interested in dancing Argentine Tango without the constraints of traditional gender roles.

Learning both leading and following enables the dancers to freely choose which role they would like to dance, as and when they desire.

Queer Tango is a growing phenomenon across the world with annual festivals taking place in Germany, Denmark, Mexico and Argentina to name a few.


The queer tango movement permits not only an access to tango for the LGBT community, but also supports existing possibilities for heterosexual dancers — women learn the lead, men learn the follow.

Studying both roles, women and men enhance their communication and sensitivity.
