Easter is upon us! Bachata and chocolate! Does life get any better?

Join us for a friendly get-together and take part in a fun but thorough lesson, where the emphasis will be on leading and following, as well as footwork, rather than remembering a routine. And of course, there will be plenty of time for practicing afterwards, to non-stop old and new Bachata tracks in the company of other Bachata lovers.

New beginners join us every month and feel confident enough to brave the dance floor after just one lesson, so don't be shy!

19.00 - 19.30: free class (for beginners)

19.30 - 20.30: Class for all levels (Improvers and above will be encouraged to increase the range of their footwork and styling, whilst newcomers can concentrate on their basic steps and turns).

20.30 – ?: Dance to the latest and the best Bachata music (and the odd salsa!) As there's no school in the morning, we'll stay up later that night

No partner needed. Dancers of all abilities welcome.

Absolute Beginners’ Class: Free
Second Class and Club: £4.50
Dancing only: £3.00

Also note that the Station car park is only £1.00 on Sundays, for unlimited time.

Finally, it is definitely worth mentioning that everyone taking part can eat at the Station for half price (This includes everything on the menu).

See you there!

If you love to kick your heels up, abandon your weekly cares and worries, meet new people and enjoy a few ales, then ceilidh'ing is most definitely where it's at.

Myself along with the newly formed Brighton Ceilidh Collective are happy to announce that we've put the final piece of the puzzle together and found the perfect venue for a new monthly ceilidh event in central Brighton, starting on Friday 2nd May!

The event will be called 'Rant' and will take place on the first Friday of each month, 8pm - 11pm (doors open 7.45pm), in the refurbished One Church Building, Gloucester Place, by the North Laine and opposite Grand Parade.

Don't worry if you've never ceilidh'd before, we'll walk you through each dance first and there's always someone more experienced who'll help with a gentle shove in the right direction if you get lost.

In the ceilidh scene, it's perfectly acceptable to arrive on your own as you're never without a dance partner for long.

Tickets will be sold on the door, will cost £5 and the event is suitable for anyone age 15+. (Under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

Advance tickets. From previous experience we know that a LOT of people turn up to these events so we've set up the Meetup Group partly as a way for Ranters to buy advance tickets so they can guarantee a place. Because of the admin costs of Meetup, we're having to add an extra £1 onto the ticket price for advance tickets.

There will be a bar selling ale, soft drinks etc. and possibly even tea and coffee for those of you who feel the need!

The venue has literally just become available. It used to be a church, but the pews have been removed to create a beautiful open space. Some of these are being made into booths, some have become the bar and coffee area and others have moved round to create seating around a helpfully large dance floor. There is still work ongoing, so we should see more brilliant developments as the months pass by.

Can't wait to see you there!
