As part of our aim to support the local "helping professions" community, we are opening our doors on a bi-monthly basis for a free local support networking forum.

Sometimes it can be a lonely job working in the helping professions. This will give participants an opportunity to meet with like-minded people, to network, get support, exchange ideas etc, and various speakers have been invited to do a short talk about a different topic each time.

It will be held between 7pm and 9pm at our training premises - Headway Hurstwood Park, Jackies Lane, Newick, East Sussex BN8 4QX

Love wine, love being social?

If you enjoy wine, here’s an event that you will absolutely love at Brighton’s premier wine venue.

We’ll be pouring 6 wines, including a fizz to welcome you. With each wine you’ll be given a number of descriptions with which to match the wine, with a prize for the winner!

The evening is as much about socialising as it is about wine, so the tasting will be in rotation to allow you to discuss flavours together and meet in a stylish and relaxed setting.

After three tastes we will break to mingle and there is the option of purchasing nibbles or a cheese/charcuterie plate. After the tasting you are welcome to continue to socialise and enjoy this stunning venue, the flavoursome tastes it offers and good company.

Ten Green Bottles is centrally located and only minutes away from Brighton Station – perfect for an after work social and for commuters.

Wednesday 10th September, 7.30pm – 10.30pm

No knowledge of wine is required.

Join the conversation about building trust in the sceptical age of the internet with the team from Macmillan Cancer Support's new digital project team.

Trust in the sceptical age of the internet can be an elusive thing. Whether you’re shopping or dating online, you need to know that what you see on screen is going to be what you get in real life. This is even more important when you’re providing a service for vulnerable members of the community.

Macmillan Cancer Support will be talking about how we’ve created a strong sense of trust in our online services and communities, pop by for a bit and join in the discussion about digital reputation.

Next Rags Revival Brighton Swishing - Clothes Swap Shop is back for September! We have booked down stairs in The Globe Brighton and we know there was issues with lighting! Soooo... we have got some massive lights which will stand up in the clothes area so you can see the goodies you are browsing (handy for a swishing event ;-) Bring your friends, bring your clothes, and any spare tokens you have knocking around!

Swishing evenings - How does it work?

Fear not, here at Rags Revival events you won't need your crash helmet and knee pads to fend people off from the best stuff! It works on a free flow basis and as different people come through the night the stock changes constantly! We are more of a have a glass of wine mull over the clothes kind of gals!

You can bring up to 10 items - Clothes, Shoes, Hats, Bags, Jewelry (We do ask that you bring quality secondhand items - e.g. not those holey short shorts you have been wearing to the gym or the £2 tank you brought from Primark last year) The clothes DO NOT have to be vintage but of course would love them!

Each item is worth one token - Simple!

There is a changing screen and mirrors for those of you who are bashful too.

When you arrive with your items you can either

1. Keep your clothes, find a table, get a drink, relax - look through the rails and make sure there are enough items that you want to swish/swap, before parting with those items that have been collecting dust at the back of your wardrobe. Then when you are ready you can literally swap each item and then we will put out your items for others! Also, this way you can keep some of your clothes you brought if you aren't quite ready to part with them yet and just swish a couple of pieces!

2. Hand in your items straight away and receive tokens and we will put your items straight out. These tokens you can spend to get any item already out or that comes later in the evening. If you have any tokens left, keep them! Come to our next event and spend them there!

See you there!!

A tour of all that's peculiar to Brighton.
What connects Abba and the Portuguese Revolution? Mount Everest and a supermarket in Hove? A stained wall and the genesis of a worldwide retail brand? What's the story behind a same-sex wedding in 1923...Britain's 'most useless' monarch...a certain Parisian radio station? And why is my charming Regency property damp and crumbling? Only in Brighton...

Only in Brighton is a vivid 80-minute guided walk. It is a curiously fact-filled and tongue-in-cheek look at the landmarks, past and present, that make Brighton a city like no other. For the visitor, it is an insider's introduction; for the hardened Brightonian, a revelation and celebration. This personal tribute cuts to the heart of a unique city in all its glory, shame and muesli.
