EMDR is a method that enables the brain to process and integrate information that has been blocked by the "fight/flight" system. The practitioner uses bilateral brain stimulation to enable clients to process disturbing memories and emotions and facilitate them to reorganize their experience into a positive resource. The therapist can use this effectively in the normal course of therapy as a crisis intervention and for early childhood trauma that is not accessible in conscious memory. EMDR has been in the NICE guidelines for some time for the treatment of post-traumatic stress and current research has supported its effectiveness. In this workshop there will be a demonstration of the method and participants will have an opportunity to experience and practice EMDR. We will also discuss the ethical and professional considerations for its use in practice.

This day will de-mystify Tantra, giving you a deep, yet safe experience of Tantric techniques enabling you to increase your pleasure and experience of life. Some exercises and meditations are done by yourself, some in connection with another, some with the group. You may like to invite a special partner with you as the day will encourage a deepening of your relationship.

If you come by yourself you will find other friendly people in a supportive group environment to practice beautiful meditations with. There will be no nudity during this day. Everyone is welcome whatever their sexual preference. We will have a tea break during the day, a selection of teas provided, you may like to bring a small snack with you.

Included in the day:

• chakra system, experiential energising meditation

• sensory delight meditation
• practice of laughter as aid to psychological health, and orgasmic expansion

• tantric meditation

• transfiguration, seeing the divine in each person

Mindfulness has been used for thousands of years to promote wellbeing. It is now widely recognised as being a powerful tool that can help anyone enhance their appreciation of life, manage stress, and even improve performance in activities and tasks. In the media it has been referred to as the ‘mindfulness revolution’. Its advocates even include an American Congressman, and it's now used in a wide variety of settings, such as healthcare, business, education, and sport.
There is also strong scientific evidence that ‘tried and tested’ 8-week mindfulness courses such as Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) can reduce stress and anxiety (MBCT & MBSR), and relapse rates into depression (MBCT).
Nick Diggins has taught over fifty 8-week mindfulness courses, as well as many shorter courses. He has an MA in Teaching Mindfulness-based Courses, and is an Associate Teacher at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University.

A Closer Look – An Acoustic Set
Steve Harley, the original Cockney Rebel, tours the world with A Closer Look – An Acoustic Set, an intimate, unique, and atmospheric show. The performance promises intimacy mingled with great improvisation and rocky rhythms.
Steve will be accompanied by his Cockney Rebel band-mate of long-standing, Barry Wickens [violin and guitar] and by James Lascelles [piano and percussion]. The set will be built around tracks from all 13 of Steve’s albums and will include all-time favourites like Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Mr Raffles, Sebastian, and of course the ever-popular Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me), all blended in with more recent tracks from critically-acclaimed albums The Quality Of Mercy and Stranger Comes To Town.

Tai Chi Ch'uan is an ancient form of slow, graceful and rhythmic exercise which originated in China, where it is still extremely popular, often being performed in public parks early in the morning when the air is at its freshest. The style taught here is the Yang style Short Form as developed by Professor Ch'eng Man Ch'ing, currently the most popular form of Tai Chi in the U.K.

Tai Chi is sometimes referred to as 'meditation in movement' or 'swimming in air' for externally that is how it appears. It is a soft martial art, quite unlike karate, ju jitsu or any of the 'hard' martial arts which rely on force and speed.

Tai Chi strengthens our internal energy, and allows it to flow more freely through the body. It is gentle and non-violent, though after much practice it is an extremely effective form of self defence.
