The In Between Gallery is a temporary gallery in the Fabrica window showing contemporary photography between Fabrica's main exhibition programme. We show work from two artists a year including an Open Call between December and April.
Showing two works this year is Amartey Golding with ‘Red, White and pink flowers’, from the series ‘Is It Just Me? Or Is It You?’ which was created in 2018 and 'Flight'. The photographic series depicted close friends, family and collaborators of the artist wearing extremely heavy chainmail and flower garments painstakingly made by hand. The series was shot in the artist's bedroom in Brighton.
Amartey Golding
Born and raised as a Rastafarian between London, Cambridge and Ghana, Amartey Golding was born in London in 1988 to an Anglo Scottish mother, Ghanaian father and Jamaican stepfather.
Amartey's work documents his introspective process of identifying and understanding the primal unifying themes of humanity using his own personal context as a starting point.
Exploring the seemingly contradictory fabric of our human condition, Amartey invites viewers to join him in this self implicating endeavour.
Preferring to work with mediums he is untrained in, to date his practice has incorporated chainmail making, printmaking, film, photography, ballet, fashion and wig making.
For more information you can visit his website: https://www.amarteygolding.com
The work will be on display until mid July in Fabrica's main picture window on Duke Street.

Enter Gallery is delighted to present, a new solo show of works by British artist and social media sensation, Arron Crascall.
With millions of followers, and the likes of Seth Rogan, Jennifer Aniston and Jack Black all tuning in to his hilarious videos, Crascall is one of the biggest names in internet comedy right now.
In 2017, Crascall was compelled to pick up the paintbrush again as an outlet from the fast-paced strains of life on the internet. He tells us:
“What I do can be quite stressful, so in 2017 I started buying canvases and making little bits whenever I had the time. It’s really taken off, people want to buy them and look at them.”
Arron’s abstract pieces combine pop culture icons alongside scrawled text and swathes of colour. Asked to describe his art, he answers: “It’s chaos. I don’t paint often but when I do, a lot comes out of me.”
This new showcase will feature a selection of original canvas paintings and limited edition prints in a striking display on the walls at Enter Gallery, Bond Street, Brighton.
All pieces will be available to buy and there will be drinks on arrival from 6pm.

Tatty Devine’s statement jewellery is always ahead of the curve. Their jewellery tells stories and generates conversation.
Misshapes: The Making of Tatty Devine, features over 100 pieces from the past 20 years, from the early leather cuffs and piano belts to giant two metre versions of their ‘greatest hits’ including a lobster, their magpies and a huge banana, alongside sketchbooks, ephemera and two new films.
Tatty Devine’s founders Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine set up a market stall in Spitalfields Market in the mid 1990s. Together they challenged jewellery conventions and invested in a laser cutting machine, going on to create personality-packed jewellery much loved and still culturally relevant 20 years on.

This is more than an exhibition; this is a call for action. Step into Goal Power! and make a pledge to actively support, grow and shout about football for all.
2022 will see the biggest participation figures in women’s football ever. Matches are now shown on live mainstream tv, stadiums will be full for the Lionesses European Championship matches, more girls are playing in schools than ever before. Football has the power to change lives, and footballers are using this power to take a stand on beliefs close to their hearts.
How do we make sure this momentum continues, that women and girls have the same opportunities to play and work in football, that women’s teams are successful and sustainable?
This exhibition gives you our dream squad, women who have dedicated their lives to the ‘beautiful game’. Share in their stories of resistance, perseverance, but above all a love for football that means they have trailblazed the way for women and girls today. From the feminist players of 1894 and the war worker footballers of the First World War to those who defied the Football Association to play and those who have changed the Football Association from within.
We pledge to shine a light on their stories and experiences. What’s your pledge?
We’re delighted to announce that we are working on a series of community activations with Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. Together with past and present players and coaches we’re exploring the exciting heritage of women’s teams in Brighton & Hove and the power of football in women and girls lives today.
Look out for the Footballers in Residence programme. Local teams will be delving into Brighton Museum, holding special events, and sharing their discoveries and stories.
